Edwardian Oak Oval Wall Mirror with Beaded Moulding and Patera Bosses, c.1900
A handsome and well-proportioned oval wall mirror in the Edwardian classical revival taste. The dark-stained oak frame with its visible ray-fleck grain characteristic of quarter-sawn timber carries a continuous run of turned bead moulding along the inner edge, punctuated at four cardinal points by applied circular patera bosses set within square blocked mounts. This combination of beading and patera is a direct quotation from the Adam and Regency decorative vocabulary.
Original bevelled mirror plate, good clarity; minor spotting consistent with age. Good antique condition.
