Antique Onyx and Brass Two-Tier Side Table / Étagère, C.1900
A decorative two-tier occasional table of elegant Aesthetic Movement character, the frame constructed from four reeded cylindrical brass columns supporting two squared onyx slabs of generous proportion. Both tiers are cut from warm honey-amber onyx displaying the characteristic cloudlike banding and translucency of the stone, the natural live edges — particularly pronounced on the upper tier — retained and polished to reveal the material's inherent stratification in tones of cream, amber, and russet brown.
Period: C.1900
Origin: French

Dimensions: H 59 cm, W 35 cm, D 35 cm
Good decorative condition. Onyx slabs intact with no chips or cracks observed. Brass framework shows mixed patination, finials partially retaining gilded surface; legs showing losses to base metal. Structurally sound.
